Special sing ing was by the Adult Home Choir. Mr. J.H. Locklear was able to be back in church after being out for quite awhile due to illness. The Burnt Swamp Baptist Association held its Evange lism Conference at Mt. Airy Baptist Church. It began Sun day, March 12 and lasted until the 14th beginning each even ing at 7:30. On Sunday night the first message was deliver ed by Rev. Sherman Brooks, professor of health education at Fayettaville State Univer sity. Second message was by Rev. Roosevelt L. Holmes, pastor of Piney Grove Baptist Church of Raeford, NC. Speci al music was by the Piney Grove Choir of Raeford. Monday night's first mess age was by Rev. Mrs. Rockie Jane Locklear entered McCain Hospital last Thursday. Her condition is improving slowly. Mr. Alford Bryant has re turned home from South eastern General Hospital where he underwent minor surgery. His condition is im proving. Mrs. Locklear was faithful and dependable to her church and God; a good mother and a faithful wife; a light to the community in which she lived. The devotion was given by Mrs. Mary Bullard. The ladies answered the roll by telling how they had helped needy people. There was business discussions held dur ing the meeting. The demon stration for the month was given by the Associate Home Economic Agent Miss Mau reen Dial on "A better home for all who care." A tour to the Southern Living Show which was all ready in progress in Charlotte was announced, also the South Central District Meeting April 12, 1978 at the Elks Club in Southern Pines.
